Program Description


Accounting is a high growth area. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of accountants and auditors is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through the year 2016. Often times accounting is referred to as the language of business. Your career path is endless. Students learn to record and interpret business data. They develop analytical skills that enable them to seek careers as accountants, controllers, accounts receivable/payable clerks, tax preparers, payroll specialists, and financial analysts. Computerized applications are incorporated to reflect current industry practices. Students are prepared to perform duties such as:

• maintaining accounting records and systems.
• analyzing business records.
• designing new systems or modifying existing systems.

Accounting graduates are eligible to take the Accreditation in Accountancy (ABA) and/or an Enrolled Agent (EA) exam to further support your educational background. There are many opportunites when you have an accounting degree. You have options!

Students may be able to earn many of the required credits by taking courses on the Internet. Other course deliver formats may be available also.
