This program has August and January entry dates.Program DescriptionIf you enjoy working with numbers, have an interest in business, and are searching for a career path full of opportunity, the Accounting program may be right for you. Accounting is often referred to as the language of business. In this program, you will learn to record and interpret business data. You'll develop analytical skills that will enable you to seek a career as an accountant, controller, account receivable/payable clerk, tax preparer, payroll specialist, and office manager. Computerized applications are incorporated to reflect current industry practices. You'll be prepared to • Set up and maintain accounting records and systems. • Analyze financial records. • Prepare individual and small business tax returns. • Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports. • Calculate, record, and make require payroll deposits and filings. Accounting is a high growth area. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of accountants and auditors is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through the year 2016. Accounting graduates are eligible to take the Accreditation in Accountancy (ABA) and/or an Enrolled Agent (EA) exam to further support your educational background. There are many opportunities when you have an accounting degree. You have options!
