Program Description


Exciting--the office--where careers and decisions are made. This program will help you develop the skills necessary to become a vital part of the business office. You will learn to use software as a tool to help make decisions, prepare documents, coordinate projects, and maintain a smoothly functioning business environment. Working with other professionals individually and in teams is an integral part of this career.

You will develop or enhance the following professional skills in the Administrative Assistant program. The ability to:

• use state-of-the-art word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software to create business documents.
• design, create, update, and maintain Web sites.
• interpret, analyze, and present data for decision making.
• communicate instructions in person and via email.
• access information from the Internet and present it for decision making.
• create and use multimedia and graphics in Web and other documents.
• prepare financial documents.
• establish priorities and organize work.
• appreciate persons with diverse backgrounds.
• work in a global environment with persons from other cultures.
