Who May Use The Library

Students, faculty, and staff of CVTC may use Library materials and services. Identification cards obtained through the Student Life office (ECB115) serve as student library cards. Students may be required to present a current class schedule to reinstate privileges. Faculty and staff should request library cards at the circulation desk.

Community users and off-campus high school students must present a current community library card. To apply for a library card, fill out an application and show a photo ID at the circulation desk. Community users and off-campus high school students must request computer access at the circulation desk. Users will be expected to provide the current date, time in, name, library card number (barcode), signature, and identify which computer workstation they will be using. Users sign up in 30-minute increments and are expected to check out at the circulation desk at the end of their 30-minute time. Library staff will physically log them on to the workstation. Users may sign up for an additional 30 minutes based on availability. Community users and off-campus high school students are limited to a maximum of 60 minutes per day. Users will have Internet access only.

Documents must be saved to a floppy disk, CD-ROM Read/Write disc, or a flash drive. Printing will be handled by the College duplicating center at a set price per page. College policies regarding Internet, e-mail, and computer use will be enforced. Copies of College policies are available upon request.

The College duplicating center is located at the Eau Claire Business Education Center, Room 150. The center is open 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fridays during the academic year; summer and interim hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Submit your duplicating requests in person or via e-mail at duplicatingorders@cvtc.edu. Users must pick up orders within 48 hours. Users who do not pick up orders within 48 hours will be denied future electronic requests. For additional information, contact the duplicating center at 833-6236 or 833-1835.

Student IDs or library cards must be presented in order to check out materials. Library users are responsible for all materials checked out on his/her card.

Report the loss of a card, a change of name, or a change of address, as soon as possible, at the CVTC Library Circulation Desk.
