Barbara Ries and Grace Rich, instructors at Chippewa Valley Technical College, are the 2009 recipients of the Fuerstenberg Teaching Excellence Award.

 

Ries is a math instructor who joined the technical college faculty in 1985. Business Management instructor Dr. Grace Rich has taught at CVTC for 14 years. Each will also receive an unconditional $1,500 award.

 

The award is made possible by Roy and Jan Fuerstenberg of Eau Claire. It’s earned by faculty displaying high professionalism and excellence in teaching and learning. Recipients also demonstrate positive student-teacher relationships.

 

“Teaching is our core business and we have that underscored for us when we choose from among our finest. Grace and Barbara are excellent instructors and well chosen for the honor,” said Bruce Barker, CVTC President.
