Getting Started Checklist

Follow these easy steps to begin your journey towards a degree or diploma.

Step One

Choose Your Program

Your first step toward enrolling at CVTC is to select a program. CVTC offers a wide range of programs each with exciting career opportunities. Having trouble deciding? Let us help! CVTC's Counseling and Advising Center and Career Planning Workshops can help you find the program that will work best for you.

Each program at CVTC has a unique set of admission requirements. Choose your program of interest from our list of programs and follow the step-by-step instructions listed.


Step Two

Complete an Admissions Application

All students who wish to enroll in a program at CVTC must fill out an application. The preferred way to apply is to use our Online Application. A one-time nonrefundable application processing fee of $30 is required at the time of application.

The on-line application for the Fall 2010 semester will be available starting September 8, 2009.  High school seniors and the general public can begin to apply on or after this date.  The Admissions Department will begin processing applications for Fall 2010 on October 5, 2009.

Step Three

Complete Requirements

After you've completed steps one and two there may be additional requirements for you to complete:

  • All CVTC programs require a COMPASS® pre-entry assessment, and many programs require minimum scores as an admission requirement. Visit the COMPASS® website to view more information. The cost of the assessment is $20. The ACTTM College entrance exam may be used in place of COMPASS®
  • Because each program at CVTC is unique, it's important that you view the admission requirements sheet located on our Program List page to review and complete any additional admission requirements for your program. You may view our admissions forms page for a list of commonly used forms that are required by a number of programs.

Step Four

Pay For College

Make sure you're ready for the financial commitment of college. View our list of fees and apply early for Financial Aid. There are several payment options available to students.
