Welcome to Disability Services

Mission

The mission of the Disability Services department at Chippewa Valley Technical College is to provide qualified persons with disabilities equal access to programs, aids, services and activities as required by law.  Disability Services will provide accommodations and make recommendations to the College to remain in compliance with Section 504 of the Vocational Rehabilitation Act and the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).  In order to accomplish this mission, we strive to create an environment that supports understanding and acceptance of disability throughout all of CVTC's campuses.

Accommodations, to the extent possible, are provided in the classroom which serves as an inclusive environment.  Instructors are responsible for both making accommodations accessible and providing accommodations to qualified students with disabilities.  Disability Services continually consults with Chippewa Valley Technical College instructors and staff to provide adjustments and/or modifications within the educational environment that will not fundamentally alter course curriculum or requirements.  The Disability Services department can often be seen as a liaison between students and instructors to determine the accommodations for which the students are entitled and to assist instructors with how to provide those accommodations.
