ACLS Renewal Course
  • This renewal course is designed to be an 8-hour workshop. It is offered to candidates that have successfully completed the ACLS Provider course within the last two years. This course incorporates interactive teaching sessions and evaluation stations. It is designed to update the current ACLS provider with the latest information available from the American Heart Association and to reinforce the core knowledge and skills required for emergency cardiac care. Prerequisite of current AHA ACLS Provider card and current AHA Healthcare Provider card.

ACLS Provider Course 
  • This course is designed to be a 16-hour workshop. It is offered to candidates that have an interest in emergency cardiac care. Candidates must have successfully completed BLS/CPR for the healthcare provider, offered by either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, within the last two years. This course incorporates interactive teaching sessions and evaluation stations. Courses are based on the latest information available from the American Heart Association. Prerequisite of current AHA BLS-Healthcare Provider card.

AMLS Provider Course
  • AMLS is a 16-hour, two-day in-depth study of common medical emergencies, directed towards pre-hospital treatment of medical emergencies, but also encompasses the initial management and assessment of patients applicable to the hospital environment. The course offers a pragmatic, “think outside the box” approach, centered on teaching providers what they need to know for optimum patient care. The curriculum consists of interactive lectures, teaching and evaluation stations. The interactive/case based lectures include the following topics: Patient Assessment, Airway Management, Assessment of the Shock Patient, Dyspnea/Respiratory Failure, Chest Pain, altered Mental Status, and Abdominal Pain. Teaching stations follow the associated lectures each day. Upon successful completion of the course, the participant is awarded 16 Continuing Education Hours and certification for a four year period.

CPR – Healthcare Provider
  • This course is designed for persons requiring knowledge in resuscitation techniques for infant, child, and adult age categories. Students will learn proper patient and airway positioning, mouth-to-mouth breathing, cardiac compressions, and techniques to relieve airway obstructions. Barrier devices will be part of this training and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) will also be included in this course. Upon successful completion, students will be able to incorporate procedures learned and critical thinking in order to act appropriately in heart-related and airway obstruction emergencies. This curriculum includes the most current American Heart Association guidelines and meets the requirements for healthcare providers. (Book and one-way valve required; available for purchase at CVTC.)

CPR Renewal Healthcare Provider
  • Renewal is required every two years for individuals holding a valid American Heart Association CPR card. The card must be presented to instructor. Provided will be a review of all objectives completed in the original CPR training and updates on the most current guidelines. Through demonstration of practical skill scenarios and successful completion of a written exam, the participant in this training will be issued an American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR card. Current book and one-way valve are required.

EMT Basic Refresher
  • A 30-hour course that provides updated training to licensed EMT-Basics. Current books and materials required.

ICS 300
  • This is a follow-up to Basic ICS that combines web-based and classroom-based instruction. An all-hazards ICS course, it is designed for all entities of the first responder community that have operational responsibilities during emergencies and disasters. This is a required course for middle management in order to meet the NIMS regulations.

ICS 400
  • This course will be a follow-up to ICS 300 Intermediate. It combines web-based and classroom-based instruction and is an all-hazards ICS course especially designed for all entities of the first responder community with operational responsibilities during emergencies and disasters. This course is required for Command and General Staff to include: department heads with multi-agency responsibilities, emergency managers, area commanders, and in order to meet the NIMS regulations.

Intermediate Tech Refresher
  • A 20-hour course designed to assist the EMT I in meeting their continuing education requirements. Current Wisconsin EMT-Intermediate license required.

ITLS Advanced
  • This is a comprehensive course for EMT’s, Paramedics, trauma nurses, physicians, and other advanced EMS personnel. The course covers the skills necessary for rapid assessment, resuscitation, stabilization and transportation of trauma patients, using as its core, the ITLS Course. The 16-hour course emphasizes evaluation steps, sequencing, and techniques for resuscitation and packaging a patient. Hands-on stations include: basic and advanced airway, chest decompression and fluid resuscitation, spinal restriction/rapid extrication, short back board, helmet management, log roll and long back board, traction splints, patient assessment and management.

PALS Renewal Course
  • This course includes lecture, skill stations, and evaluation stations plus a written test. PALS recertification must be obtained within a two-year period from previous certification. This course is designed for those who have previously completed the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) class and are now ready to extend their verification to comply with keeping the verification current.

PALS Provider Course
  • The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is designed to provide healthcare professionals with information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary events and provide core clinical knowledge and critical thinking needed to properly treat infants and children. Students will learn and expand upon the cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest. The PALS Provider course is a 16-hour, 2-day course, intended for physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals responsible for assessment and care of infants and children.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program
  • This course has been designed to teach an evidence-based approach to resuscitation of the newborn. The causes, prevention, and management of mild to severe neonatal asphyxia are carefully explained so that health professionals may develop optimal knowledge and skill in resuscitation.
