Strategically Communicate in the 21st Century
  • Communicating strategically means tailoring message delivery to connect in the most effective manner. This means knowing the audience and the most appropriate method to communicate the message. This module will focus on fundamental elements of strategic communication including:
    • Defining key aspects of the strategic communication process.
    • Describing how to make strategic communication operational.
    • Outlining key considerations for effective use of electronic communication.

Leading a Lean Culture
  • Focus: We’ve learned all the Lean tools and techniques and have had some successful events, but things just don’t seem to stick. The next step in the Lean Transformation is developing a Lean Culture. The Culture is the glue that holds the tools together and gets all employees involved. This seminar will look at the elements of developing a Lean Culture and provide a series of weekly assignments for you to move your organizati on forward on this journey. The topics covered include: Understanding Lean and a Lean Culture, Leadership Skills for the Lean Leader, Personal and Interpersonal Effectiveness, Team Development, Organizational Change, and Measures of Success. Audience: Lean Practitioners, Team Leaders, Supervisors, Managers, Engineers, etc who are charged with implementing a lean initiative in their organization. Morning refreshments provided.

Managing Performance
  • Focus: Explain the concept of performance management and distinguish performance management from performance appraisal. Describe and explain the key features of performance management and outline the employee’s and manager’s role in the performance management process. Audience: Supervisors and managers. Morning refreshments provided.

Managing Priorities
  • Focus: Focusing on priorities based on key accountabilities, establishing effective goals, and planning activities to ensure priorities are realized. Also includes information regarding personal energy management to reduce stress. Audience: Team members, team leads, project managers and associates, supervisors, managers. Morning refreshments provided.

Managing Up

  • Regardless of our position in the organization, we can always take proactive steps to create an environment to influence greater success, often times through the relationship we have with our boss. This module will focus on:
    • Communicating key information in an effective manner.
    • Aligning your objectives with the objectives of your boss.
    • Outlining other key skills that are important to create greater influence with your boss and other key organization stakeholders.

Performance Appraisal

  • More than ever, helping to ensure optimum employee productivity is essential for the success of our teams, departments, and businesses. This module will focus on key aspects of planning for and assessing performance. Key topics to be discussed include:
    • Outlining the function of the appraisal process in managing employee performance
    • Defining employee performance and factors that impact employee performance.
    • Describing the use of essential tools in conducting effective employee appraisals.
