National Electrical Code

For electrical workers and wiremen who use the national electric code on the job. Course covers formulas, tables, the intent and general use of the code. A primer for all code certification tests. A NEC book and manual are required.

Knot Tying & Line Rigging

A hands-on course covering construction rigging fundamentals. Course includes knots, splicing, hand signaling, ladders, scaffolding, air and electric tools. A written quiz is given upon completion of this course.

About the Conference: The 2009 Lineworker Update Seminar will upgrade participants in the field of electric line installation and maintenance. The seminar is designed for people who work with all phases of electric linework: lineworkers, line installers, and line maintenance professionals. The seminar is intended for journey-level lineworkers and not recommended for apprentice lineworkers.

About the Conference: Line crews are constantly required to use ropes, blocks, and other special equipment to raise and lower electrical components, tools, and equipment. In order to perform these tasks safely and efficiently, a fundamental knowledge of rigging and rigging equipment is necessary. This program concentrates on the basics of overhead rigging, including safe rigging practices, ropes, knots and knot tying, the use of hand lines, and the use of blocks and tackle.
