  • Provide evidence of sufficient funds to pay all living expenses, school-related costs, and health insurance.
  • Pay all tuition, books, material, and other fees upon registering for classes each semester.
  • Provide evidence of health insurance.
  • Remain "in status" according to USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) regulations for the duration of their attendance at CVTC.

Please read the following information items to help in deciding if Chippewa Valley Technical College is an appropriate choice of schools:

  • International students must arrange to have someone to meet them at the airport. A college representative is not available to meet you.
  • International students need to make their own arrangements for living in an apartment or a house. The college does not assist in making housing arrangements for international students.
  • Monthly payment for an apartment ranges from $250-500, depending on the accommodations.
  • Heat, electricity and telephone are extra monthly costs and may range from $150-300 total per month.
  • International students with a local sponsor or who know someone in the Chippewa Valley region (including the cities of Eau Claire, Menomonie, River Falls, or Chippewa Falls) tend to have the best chance of succeeding in our college.
  • Tuition for a full year of school is $6,125 for 30 credits (15 credits per semester) for international students.
  • International students must prove their proficiency in the English language.
  • International students are not eligible for most health programs, due to extensive waiting lists for these programs.
  • Chippewa Valley Technical College has a Multicultural Club that you may join. It's a great way to make friends once you are enrolled as a student at CVTC.
  • International students are assigned a Student Advisor to help in succeeding academically.
  • Chippewa Valley Technical College has an English as a Second Language instruction program and a Study Skills lab available to all enrolled students. These two resources will help students succeed with their studies.
