Residency Requirements
Pursuant to the Wisconsin Technical College System Administrative Code (TCS 10.04), State of Wisconsin residents shall receive priority for admission to programs at the college. Out-of-state residents will receive consideration on a space available basis.
OUT-OF-STATE RESIDENTS:
- Minnesota residents are granted reciprocity and treated as State residents.
- Out-of-state residents shall be admitted to programs after district and non-district state residents. Out-of-state resident applications may be considered for program openings as follows:
- March 1 for programs beginning in the following fall semester
- July 1 for programs beginning in the following January semester
- December 1 for programs beginning in the following summer semester
- Waiting Lists: Out-of-state residents may be initially placed on waiting lists to keep the application eligible for last minute openings. However, out-of-state residents are not eligible to be retained on waiting lists for program openings for subsequent semesters. They must reapply to be considered for subsequent entry dates.
- Out-of-state persons generally must reside in Wisconsin for one (1) year to establish residency. Persons residing in Wisconsin principally to obtain education (for example UW students from out-of-state) are presumed to continue to reside out-of-state until evidence to support State residency is presented.
