Student Accident & Sickness Insurance Plan
Are you covered? Chippewa Valley Technical College is not in the business of writing or selling insurance. We are, however, concerned that students have an opportunity to purchase a low-cost health and accident program which will assure them the freedom from worry of financing large unexpected medical bills.
CVTC students may have health insurance through their parents insurance OR may receive health serves through the Student Health Services but that may not be enough. To assist those students who do not have adequate coverage the college has made arrangements for an accident and sickness insurance group policy for students, who are enrolled in 6 or more credits per semester, and their dependents. This policy is underwritten by Columbian Life Insurance. The coverage is designed to provide benefits for medical expenses arising from an accident or sickness including those which occur off campus and during interim vacations.
Participating in the plan is voluntary; however, we encourage you to review your personal situation to determine if you need coverage.
This policy is serviced locally by the Southard Insurance Agency, 3345 Hwy 93, Eau Claire, WI 54702. If you have any questions regarding the program, please call the Southard Insurance Agency at (715) 832-7927.
Please note: CVTC is not liable for accidents or injuries which may occur as a student of the college; this would include incidents that could happen at a clinical or internship site. CVTC does provide Student Health Services for those students enrolled in 6 or more credits. This service is made available through either UW Health Family Medicine or River Falls Medical Clinic. Student Health Services provides basic health care services and is NOT an insurance program. Learn more about Student Health Services at:
