Thank you for your interest in Adjunct or Substitute Teaching Assignments at Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC). Please review the information below to learn about the process used to fill instructional openings as they occur.

An Adjunct Instructor holds a temporary teaching position. He/she is called upon to act as an additional teaching resource when Full-Time Instructors are not available. Generally, the Adjunct Instructor teaches on a part-time basis. However, Adjunct Instructors could teach from one course to a full-time load. The need for Adjunct Instructors varies each semester.

POSITION PROFILE:

The Part-Time (Adjunct) or Substitute Instructor will deliver course instruction under the direction of the Campus Administrator or appropriate Program Manager. The assignment may involve day, evening, or weekend classes at various locations throughout the district. Assignment of the primary instructor is contingent upon sufficient enrollment in accordance with College policy. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to meet certification requirements of the Wisconsin Technical College System Board. To learn more, access the Wisconsin Technical College System web site.

COMPENSATION:  

The hourly rate for Substitute (Adjunct) instructors is $24.34 per hour. The hourly rate for Part-Time instructors is based on the Adjunct Faculty Salary Schedule

Adjunct hourly instructors receive pay based on the hours spent teaching in the classroom.  The instructional pay rate includes a built-in preparation time factor of 25% to compensate adjunct hourly instructors for time spent on course preparation, grading, and/or meetings with students outside the classroom.

How To Apply

Applicants for Adjunct/Substitute teaching opportunities have a specific application process different from that of other positions. Please follow these steps when applying:

1) Access and complete the "Candidate Information and Selection Sheet" to indicate which instructional areas you are interested in teaching. (PLEASE DO NOT SELECT MORE THAN 3 AREAS.)

2) Within 30 days of when you complete and submit the Candidate Information and Selection Form, the following required items must be on file in Human Resources at CVTC (see address below):

a. The Application for Employment *
b. A resume (this can also be emailed to rgilbertson9@cvtc.edu)
c. A copy of your transcripts. (Official transcripts are required upon hire.)
d. Copies of any related certificate/licenses that might be required by outside agencies.

Pre-Screening Process


You will receive an e-mail confirming our office received the Candidate Information and Selection Sheet you submitted online.  This email will also list which materials you must submit in order to complete your application.

When ALL items listed above in the "How to Apply" section are on file in Human Resources at CVTC, your application will be considered complete.

Please Note: A delay in our receipt of the required application items may prevent you from being considered for a particular adjunct teaching assignment

After we have received your complete application, we will send you another email confirming this.  Your application materials will then be evaluated by CVTC's Certification Officer to make sure you meet the WTCS certification requirements in the instructional areas you selected.  When adjunct or substitute teaching needs arise in the instructional area(s) you selected (and you meet the certification requirements in those areas) you will be contacted by one of the hiring managers via phone, email or mail if you are selected to interview. 

Your application materials will remain in our database for 12 months.

In order to maintain a current pool of applicants, all submissions older than one (1) year will be deleted from the pool.
