River Falls Ceremony Information

Date:        Thursday, May 8, 2008
Time:        7:00 p.m.
Location:  River Falls High School Auditorium

All candidates must register for graduation online.

Invitations/Announcements
Students will receive 10 graduation announcements and envelopes. Additional announcements will be available from Stacy Bloom at the River Falls Campus.

Attire
To participate in the ceremony you must purchase a cap, gown, and tassel (approx. $26) from the CVTC Bookstore.  Please call the bookstore at 715-833-6240 to place your order with a credit card.  They will need to know your height, for the length of the gown.  The items will be shipped to your house for a flat fee of $5.  At the time of your order, please specify if you are an Honor student.  

The ceremony is open to the public - no tickets are necessary. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. Guests who require special seating are asked to arrive early.

Nursing graduates need to be at the high school by 6:15 p.m. for pictures.  All other graduates are asked to arrive by 6:30 p.m. for ceremony and processional instructions.

Graduation Reception
A reception to honor graduates will follow the ceremony in the high school commons. All graduates and guests are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Diplomas and/or degrees will be mailed approximately ten (10) weeks following the ceremony. If your address changes during this time or if you have any questions, please contact the Main Office at 715-425-3301.

INTERESTED IN BEING THE STUDENT COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER?
Submit a typed copy of your 3-5 minutes speech to Stacy Bloom, River Falls Campus, room 105B, no later than Friday, April 4, 2008. Communications Instructor, Gregg Nelson, has kindly offered his assistance to serve as coach to the student regarding presentation skills, etc.

Graduation speech must be inclusive of the graduates from all programs at the River Falls Campus including: Office Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Business Management, Criminal Justice, Nursing, and Wood Technics.

A student commencement speaker will be selected by a faculty committee. Student speaker will be notified by Thursday, April 17, 2008.

Student speaker will be asked to practice his/her speech at the River Falls High School auditorium, at least once, prior to graduation.
