Academic Services

Academic Services centers serve students with a variety of educational goals. Centers provide academic services to individuals in the community at no charge and maintain hours that accommodate student needs.  Students may be required to complete an academic assessment.

In general, Academic Services centers can help students to achieve any of the following goals:

  • Improve reading, math, and language skills
  • Develop a personal education plan (after completing an academic assessment)
  • Learn English as a Second Language
  • Receive assistance for college coursework
  • Upgrade academic skills to improve competitiveness in the workplace
  • Earn a high school diploma by completing high school credit
  • Earn a GED or an HSED
  • Develop specific academic skills (i.e. test-taking, study skills)
  • Complete a resume; develop job-seeking skills (i.e. interview, cover letter)
