I joined CVTC in 1998 after teaching at UW-Eau Claire, UW-Whitewater, a private business college in Boston, and co-owning a computer training company for several years. I have a PhD from UW-Madison in adult education and computer education. I earned my Certified Records Manager (CRM) standing in 1994 and also hold the CPS certification (Certified Professional Secretary). In 2002 I was named the Wisconsin Teacher of the Year for Career and Technical Education. My husband says all those letters after my name indicate severe trauma learning my alphabet as a child!
In addition to teaching in the Business Management department, I am the lead instructor for the Records and Information Management (RIM) online certificate. I taught for several years in the Business Technology department where I was active in developing online classes in the customer service and Web design areas as well as facilitating the Neillsville Business Technology Lab.
My business experience includes work as a legal secretary in Eau Claire, Wausau, and Madison, Wisconsin; a marketing coordinator in Boston; an administrative services supervisor at an engineering firm in Madison, Wisconsin, where I was responsible for the records center and staff, and later a projects manager at the same engineering firm where I led a corporate-wide reorganization of the records management system. I was also department chair of the business technology department chair at CVTC for four years.
Other than teaching, I most enjoy reading mystery books, riding motorcycle with my husband, and petting my cats.
