PROGRAM INFORMATION

Chippewa Valley Technical College’s Medical Assistant program is a 40 week diploma course. Students achieve administrative, clinical, laboratory, communication and professional competencies in the classroom, skills laboratory, Human Patient Stimulator, and local medical clinics.

Medical Assistant Program Outcomes

Upon graduation from the Medical Assistant Program, the student will be able to:

bullet Prepare principles of medical asepsis.
bullet Perform specimen collection.

Mission of the Medical Assisting Department

The mission of the Medical Assisting Department at Chippewa Valley Technical College is to provide occupational education and training to prepare students to become competent in the entry- level role of Medical Assisting. The Medical Assisting curriculum is based on standards and guidelines from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).

The Chippewa Valley Technical College Medical Assistant program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org), upon the recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants' Endowment (AAMAE).
