Students for Democratic Process (SDP) is a new student club for ANY student at CVTC. Your opinions do make a difference! Let your voice be heard!
|
The SDP club is designed to provide education and active involvement in the democratic decision-making process at the college, community, and legislative levels. We aim to:
- promote democratic principles in civic and collegial decision-making
- provide educational opportunities for classes, clubs and individuals to raise awareness of democratic principles and application in daily events
- develop a network of individuals to support and promote students’ rights and responsibilities in work, civic, and school environments
Democratic decision-making = Majority affected has the authority (directly or via elected representatives) to determine outcomes, such as the following:
- tuition increases
- parking availability
- regulation of chronic waste disease
- grading disputes
- student activity fees
- merging of county/city law enforcement
- closing of the CVTC Child Care Center
- bookstore prices
- minimum wage
- your concerns
Get involved--help promote democracy right here in the USA--at CVTC, in your community, and in your career field!
