Admissions

The admission process is the first step in becoming a CVTC student and getting your career off the ground. Whether you are interested in a program, certificate, or apprenticeship, we've made it easy to apply by providing steps below. Program Application

CVTC offers 110+ programs, 37 certificates, and 16 apprenticeships. With our variety of day, evening, and online classes you'll find what you need to fit college into your life, and into your budget. CVTC offers proven education to help you earn a degree or certificate, advance your career, or get the training you need to start a new career. Step 1:    
Complete Application

The application process will take approximately 20 minutes and you will need your social security number. A one-time nonrefundable application processing fee of $30 is required at the time of application. Apply online today!

International Students    
If you are an international student, we recommend beginning the application process at least six months before you would like to enroll. Learn more about becoming an international student.

Apply for Financial Aid

Many of our students receive financial aid (for eligible programs) assistance. There are several different types of aid, and you can learn more about each one below. For more details on the financial aid process, view our Financial Aid Checklist.

Step 3:    
Complete Entrance Requirements

Most of our programs have open access (meaning no entrance exams or scores are required to enter the program). There are other programs which have an academic range which applicants must meet. Please review your program admission requirements to determine if you meet the academic requirements for admission to the program.

Certificates

CVTC offers a wide variety of certificates to which you can apply anytime throughout the year with entrance exam requirements. While our certificates are not eligible for financial aid, you may find other payment options by checking out our grants, scholarships, Veterans benefits, and payment plan.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships give you access to careers that are typically unavailable to those without experience, and build skills that are transferable from one employer to another and from one area of the country to another. They combine structured on-the-job training with related classroom instruction.

Transcripts & Records

The Records & Registration office maintains official student records and coordinates the registration process, monitors satisfactory academic progress, provides official transcripts, and verifies degree completion.

Credit for Prior Learning

Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) grants college credit toward an associate degree or technical diploma for knowledge or skills you have gained that directly relate to your program. Previous knowledge and skills may be the result of work or volunteer experiences, certifications, apprenticeships, military training, extensive self-instruction, or professional development. Credit for Prior Learning affords you the opportunity to accelerate the completion of your educational goals.

Transfer Center

Transferring in credits from other learning environments is common at CVTC. You can transfer in credits from courses taken in high school, by taking an exam, or through apprenticeship training or work experience. Your credits can come from a variety of places, but at least 25% of them must be earned through graded coursework at CVTC.
