To receive an associate degree, technical diploma, or CVTC certificate, you must fulfill the following requirements:
- Attain passing grades in all required courses and complete sufficient electives to meet the approved curriculum for the specific program.
- Complete program courses with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better ("C" average).
- Fulfill all financial obligations to the College.
- Associate degree: You must earn credit in a minimum of twenty-five percent (25%) of the required technical studies credits in your program (or liberal arts credits if you are enrolled in the Liberal Arts program) at CVTC
Technical diploma: You must earn credit in a minimum of twenty-five percent (25%) of occupational- specific credits in their program at CVTC.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have successfully completed all required courses in your program. To determine completion of program courses, you can conduct a Degree Evaluation through SIS/Student Records. If you complete an associate degree or technical diploma, you are eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony.
When graduation requirements are met, you will be considered a graduate. Your name will appear on the graduate listing and your transcript will be noted. An exception will be made for those students completing a double major to allow for completion of both majors.
To graduate with honors, you must earn a minimum program GPA of 3.50 in the program from which you are graduating.
