The proficiency exam for Microsoft Office Suite 103-102 (2 credits) is composed of four parts: (1) Excel, (2) Word, (3) Access and (4) PowerPoint. You are allowed one-half hour for each test and must pass all tests with a minimum of 82% (B). Information regarding proficiency exams can be found in the student handbook (page 173) or online at
www.cvtc.edu In addition to the cost of the exam, there will be a $15.00 access code fee.
The price for the exam and access code fee will need to be paid at the Business Office, ECB campus; bring a copy of the receipt to the Information and Service Center at the Clairemont Campus. Test objectives include: creating a worksheet and charting data, managing workbooks and analyzing data, using functions and tables, creating documents with Microsoft Word 2007, formatting and organizing text, using graphics and tables, getting started with Access databases and tables, sort and query a database, create a database table from an Excel spreadsheet and create complex queries, getting started with Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, designing a PowerPoint presentation. The 2 hour test is broken up into four 30 minute parts.
