Understanding your student status at CVTC is important because it can determine when you register for courses and what type of courses you can take.
Step One: Understand the Difference Between Program and Pre-Program
Students are classified as pre-program if
the program is filled to capacity and they are on a waiting list.
they have not met certain program admissions requirements.
No matter what the reason for being a pre-program student, you may take general studies courses while you wait for an opening.
Step Two: Understand Your Student Status
Students who have been accepted in a program for the upcoming semester.
Students who have been accepted into a program, are currently attending, and have taken at least one semester of core courses.
New students who are on a waiting list or are working on admission requirements for a program and have been accepted to take General Education courses for the upcoming semester.
Students who are on a waiting list or who are working on admission requirements for a program and have taken courses in the past year.
Student status can often be confused with enrollment status. At CVTC, we look at the number of credits you are taking to determine if you are full-time or part-time. View the Financial Aid area for more information on this topic.
