Course Description for:
635-109 Princ & Applic Nanobiotechnlgy
The course will focus on science and engineering miniaturization technologies applied to discrete and multiplexed biochemical analysis. After describing several large opportunity goals and objectives in modern genomics, proteomics, biomarker discovery, drug discovery, biowarfare agent detection, and systems biology, this course will survey several core engineering approaches used in meeting the needs of multiplexed bioanalysis, like MEMS, nanofabrication, nanostructures and materials, biosensors, microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip biochemical processors, microarrays, cellular manipulation tools, and portable analysis instruments. Prerequisite(s): 635-104 Nano Cell Biology 2 and 635-105 Nanomaterials.
