In and out of the classroom, CVTC offers activities and services to promote students' growth. An enriching extracurricular life is crucial to a positive experience as a student, and CVTC offers several events and student groups. Learn more about the opportunities to get involved below.

Student Services

There are a variety of student services available to assist you in adjusting to and thriving at CVTC. Employment, advising, disability services, student support - whatever your area of interest or need, we're here to help.

Academic Advising

CVTC offers academic advising for every student. Your academic advisor will help you with career and academic decisions, learn about the registration process, select courses, and transition to CVTC. We encourage you to seek out your academic advisor when you become a CVTC student.

Academic Services

Academic Services provides academic instruction, course preparation, and learning support. Learning materials and one-on-one instruction are provided by qualified faculty. No appointments necessary! The services offered include: homework help, study skills & test preparation, college success seminars, and technology support. The College Success Seminars are free and are designed to help you brush up on basic technology and study skills–skills you’ll need to be successful at CVTC. For more detailed information on Academic Services or to register for College Success Seminars.

Career Development

An online Career Assessment is another resource that is available to anyone. The career assessment will ask a series of questions and then match you to occupations, allow you to explore careers, and give you a list of CVTC programs that are a good fit for your interests.

Career Services offers assistance to students and graduates that need help looking for a job, writing a cover letter, building a resume, and interviewing. Several career fairs are hosted each year to help students meet and network with local employers.

Student Success

Services are free and available to all current students. Your Student Success Specialist will assist you in overcoming barriers that many students encounter during their academic career. If we determine that students need more resources we will provide them with a referral to appropriate community resource(s), including mental health counseling. We are here to help with:

  • Goal setting
  • Interpersonal Issues
  • Success Plans
  • Community based referrals

Today, many women and men are breaking down barriers to pursue successful careers in NTO fields.

Diversity Resources staff can offer support, advocacy, and resources while you are exploring a non-traditional program at CVTC. With questions, email us.
