Part-Time Instructor Hiring Process



Meet Certification Requirements

Academic Courses (examples: General Education, Academic Services, Liberal Arts)

  • Bachelor's Degree including a minimum number of credits appropriate to the program area
  • Master's Degree in the content area preferred
  • 12 months (2,000 hours) of work experience outside the field of education

Occupational Programs (examples: Criminal Justice, Business Management, Welding)

  • A Bachelor's Degree (or the educational equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree)
  • 2 years (4,000 hours) of appropriate occupational experience
  • Additional program specific requirements may be needed.​

Complete the online application to be considered for future part-time/substitute teaching needs or other posted positions. Subscribe to email notifications when employment opportunities are posted.

Yearly Re-Application

Each school year, you will need to re-apply to be considered for posted part-time/substitute needs. View the CVTC Application ​and Screening Review and Procedures.
