Area high schools students, recent graduates, as well as adults thinking about career choices have an excellent resource available to help them make informed choices.
The Wisconsin Technical College System 2012-2013 Guidebook provides many options and tips for support for students and prospective students. The book includes a complete list of the programs offered at Chippewa Valley Technical College and also has a list of over 300 program offerings, or majors, and which of the 16 technical colleges offer them. Admissions requirements, transfer information, application timelines for each college and financial aid specifics are also included to help potential students explore options and make decisions.
But the book is about more than what the technical college system offers. It includes employment and salary data for graduates in various fields, helping prospective students make choices that can lead to successful future employment.
"Our many partnerships with businesses throughout the state make Wisconsin’s technical colleges more relevant than ever," states Bruce Barker, president of Chippewa Valley Technical College. "We offer a number of services to help students. Our career counselors can help you find your passion and point the way to a program that will help you get a job and make your future. We have a proven track record with more than 88 percent of our graduates in the state technical college system finding jobs within six months of graduation."
