Students Take The Plunge To Support Local Athletes

The frigid waters of Half Moon Lake in Eau Claire didn't keep students from the Barber Cosmetologist and Fire-Medic programs from taking part in the Polar Plunge.

Marcy Bruflat, CVTC Fire Service Coordinator, challenged her students to participate in the event. If all 21 students agreed to plunge, Marcy promised to join them. Donned in little red fire hats, Marcy and her students took the plunge into icy waters! Their group was also selected as having the best group costume.

Students from Barber-Cosmetologist program also participated in the annual event. Students from both programs raised over $2,000 for local Special Olympics athletes. This was the 12th year for Eau Claire to host the event.
