As classroom demonstrations go, this one was more dramatic than most.
As CVTC Law Enforcement Program students observed, the Eau Claire County Tactical Team, in full gear, entered the Flood House at the ESEC campus Wednesday, demonstrating their procedures for securing a residence.
Lt. Rodney Stearns of the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Department first gave the students a briefing on what they would see, including instruction on how the team members would be holding their weapons and why that may differ from what the students had been taught in class. Stearns described the orderly method of entry, the lingo the team members would be using to mark progress, and how they might handle the need to secure any occupants of the residence.
The demonstration was conducted as part of the Spring Career Fair, which was sponsored at ESEC by the Criminal Justice Club.
