Event Highlights

  • Learn what manufacturing is really about
  • Participate in hands-on demonstrations
  • See student projects
  • Meet local employers
  • Learn about all the programs CVTC offers, including three new programs in Engineering Technology
  • Sign up for raffle drawings
  • Enjoy free food!

See great hands-on demonstrations in the following areas:

electromechanical technology

Check out our students' creative projects such as a golf simulator, a bowling arcade game, and a guitar that plays “Smoke on the Water.” Check your skills with a fastest finger demonstration, see how the gumball cannon works, and see how electrical and optics interface with the radio control drag race.

industrial mechanic

Hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems move everything around us from elevators to conveyor systems. Demonstrations of these types of industrial mechanic learning systems will be presented. Also see how a welding simulation is used for training and how it is moving toward pplications in high schools.

nanotechnology, industrial and manufacturing

Nanotechnology is the engineering of functional
systems at the molecular scale. But what does that
really mean? We'll show you real-life applications of the technology, such as scanning electron microscope operations, cleanroom tours,
and more exciting
demonstrations.

machine tool

From operation, setup, and programming of industrial
computerized machine tools, to learning how to use
CAD/CAM (computer–aided design/computer-aided
machining), our machine tool students learn it all. See
first-hand how a Swiss screw machine works.

engineering technology programs

What do furniture builders, nano materials, and
butter have in common? From the food industry to
general manufacturing, employers in the area need
well-trained employees with engineering technology
degrees. Talk to our instructors to learn how this program is for you.

welding

Try your hand at welding and see how your talents
compare to our students. Also learn about advanced
welding techniques such as robotic welding, CNC
plasma cuttings, and welding.
