Purpose of the Nursing Programs
The purpose of the Nursing Programs is to serve health care agencies and the community by producing health care team members who contribute to the provision of holistic health care for individuals, families, and groups. Graduates of the Associate Degree and Practical Nursing Programs are prepared to take the licensure examination for employment in nursing. Students who complete the nursing assistant course are prepared to take the competency test for certification as a nursing assistant.
The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) is recognized as the accrediting body for Chippewa Valley Technical College nursing programs.
NLNAC is the entity that is responsible for the specialized accreditation of nursing education programs, both post-secondary and higher degree, which offer either a certificate, a diploma, or a recognized professional degree (Master’s, Baccalaureate, Associate Degree, Diploma, and Practical Nursing).
The Commission has authority and accountability inherent in the application of standards and criteria, accreditation processes, and the affairs, management, policy making, and general administration of the NLNAC.
