La Lor, a dental hygienist in the CVTC Dental Clinic, is featured in the August edition of Access, a publication of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association.

 

Winning over the Hmong community—an immigrant people from Laos— on matters of dental hygiene was a motivation for Lor prior to starting college. She is now a CVTC dental hygienist graduate of less than a year and is again a student, working on a B.S. in Dental Hygiene at Mankato State of Minnesota.

 

“Everyone needs to understand the link between oral health and systemic health,” Lor told the magazine. “I also enjoy making people smile,” she said.

 

“We are so proud of La,” said Debbie Schumacher, one of her former instructors.
