Records Management
The CVTC Disability Services Office works with students, faculty, and staff to provide adjustments and modifications within the educational environment for students with disabilities to assure equal access to education. Students can self-identify their disability. Documentation of the disability needs to be on file in the Disability Services Department prior to accommodations being provided.
CVTC has a strict policy for handling student records. The information you provide to CVTC’s Disability Services Department is confidential and protected to the fullest extent possible. CVTC staff will not disclose or distribute student information to third parties without prior written consent by the student. Medical records provided are housed in the Disability Services Department and will not be accessed by outside staff. Information will only be shared with faculty on a need to know basis or when a Release of Information (ROI) is signed. All documents and casefiles will be destroyed within three years of noncontact of the student.
