How do I get a library card?
Identification cards obtained through the Student Life Office (ECB115) serve as student library cards. Faculty and staff should request library cards at the Circulation Desk. Community users may obtain a library card by filling out an application and showing a photo I.D. at the Circulation Desk.

Can I type a report, letter, resume in the Library?
Yes, Microsoft Word is available for your word processing needs.

Can I access my e-mail account in the Library?
Yes, you will be able to read and send your e-mail. Type the web address of your e-mail provider in the address line of the Web browser. To access your student e-mail account, go to http://vista.cvtc.edu. Login using your user name and password.

What equipment is available for use in the Library?
The Library has monitors and video playback units with headsets located in the back of the Library. Computer terminals are available for Library and Internet access. Headsets are available at each computer workstation.

Can Community users use library workstations?
Community users and off-campus high school students must present a current community library card. To apply for a library card, fill out an application and show a photo ID at the circulation desk. Community users and off-campus high school students must request computer access at the circulation desk. Users will be expected to provide the current date, time in, name, library card number (barcode), signature, and identify which computer workstation they will be using. Users sign up in 30-minute increments and are expected to check out at the circulation desk at the end of their 30-minute time. Library staff will physically log them on to the workstation. Users may sign up for an additional 30 minutes based on availability. Community users and off-campus high school students are limited to a maximum of 60 minutes per day. Users will have Internet access only. College policies regarding Internet, e-mail, and computer use will be enforced. Copies of College policies are available upon request.

Can Community users print documents from library workstations?
Documents must be saved to a floppy disk, CD-ROM Read/Write disc, or a flash drive. Printing may be handled by the College duplicating center at a set price per page. The College duplicating center is located at the Eau Claire Business Education Center, Room 150. For additional information, contact the duplicating center at 833-6236 or 833-1835.

Are photocopiers available for use in the Library?
We have a self-service copy machine available for use. Copies are $.10 each.
