Descriptions Of Databases:
EBSCOHost: Vendor: EBSCO. EBSCOhost is an online reference system accessible via the Internet. The comprehensive database ranges from general reference to business to medical and other subject specific databases. Multiple databases can be searched separately or in any combination. Over twenty databases are currently available, providing access to thousands of titles with many available in full-text.
ProQuest: Vendor: ProQuest. ProQuest is a vendor that provides access to online information from thousands of current periodicals and newspapers. The Library has chosen the ProQuest databases to correspond with the student curriculum at CVTC. The databases include both subject specific and some that cover a broad range of subjects. Multiple databases can be searched separately or in any combination.
Badgerlink is a program supported and funded through the Department of Public Instruction-Division of Libraries, Technology and Community Learning. Its goal is to provide increased access to information for Wisconsin residents in cooperation with the state's library community. Badgerlink contains magazines, journals, newspapers and other information by providing access to the EBSCOhost periodical databases and ProQuest newspaper databases. Badgerlink also provides links to reference sites, governmental links to Wisconsin state and some federal and foreign agencies, education and library sites.

ERIC (Education Resources Information Center) www.eric.ed.gov: is a database of journal and non-journal education literature. ERIC online provides a centralized web site for searching the ERIC bibliographic databases, consisting of over one million citations. Full text for thousands of non-journal documents is now available for free; previously, available through fee-based only.
Educator's Reference Desk provides resources and services to the education community. Access to resource guides, lesson plans, question archives, and a search interface to the Gateway to Educational Materials (GEM) and ERIC (Education Resources Information Center) web sites is available.
HealthSTAR: Provides bibliographic citations to the published literature covering health care delivery and administration as well as technology and research.
