E-mail

You can send e-mail through Blackboard to individuals who participate in the course from the Send Email page. E-mails can be sent to individual users or to groups of users within the course. All messages will be delivered to the CVTC e-mail address of the sender (you) and all of the recipients(s). You will still read and reply to messages through your CVTC e-mail account.

Using Blackboard E-mail

  1. Click Communication from the course menu bar.
  2. Click Send Email.
  3. Click one of the options to select the recipients. Options include All Users, All Groups, All Teaching Assistants, All Instructor Users, Select Users or Select Groups.
  4. Complete the fields listed in the table below.

To:

Recipients display in this field. If the e-mail is intended for a select audience, an interface for selecting users will appear. The interface will not appear if an e-mail is intended for all users.

To select a user to receive an e-mail, highlight their name in the Available column and click the arrow to move them to the Selected column. A back arrow is available to move a user out of the recipient list.

From: The sender's e-mail address will automatically be displayed in this field.
Subject: Enter the subject of the e-mail. 
Message: Enter the body of the e-mail.  Note the spell check Image of a Spell Check Iconoption (lower right side of the message field).  A copy of the message will also be sent to the CVTC e-mail address of the sender.
Attachments: Click Attach a file add attachments. Select Browse and navigate to the file that should be attached to the e-mail. After adding one file, the option to attach another file will appear.
  1. Click the Submit button to send the message.
