Workplace Fundamentals
Clear, effective communication is absolutely vital to a successful business, whether that be in the day-to-day workplace, on the telephone, or in a presentation, in a written report, or by e-mail. We work with you to identify foundation skills, workplace competencies and work ethic attributes needed in order for you to have confident and professional employees who'll keep you at the top of your field.
Some of the skills in which we can focus training partnerships are:
- Reading skills needed in the everyday workplace.
- Writing skills used in memos, letters, reports and e-mail.
- Mathematical/Computation skills used specifically in your organization/business.
- Speaking skills for effective communication between workers and in public relations.
- Listening skills to improve inter-personal communications.
- Thinking skills used in making decisions and reasoning.
- Personal qualities like integrity and self-management.
- Interpersonal skills like leading and negotiating.
- Work ethic attributes like working with minimal supervision and being on time.
CVTC also houses Basic Skills Education Centers at all campuses.
Many services are offered on a walk-in, free basis.
