Your Leadership Instructors
Dave Vollmer
Dave brings with him over ten years of experience in quality and design functions from industry and 20 years of sharing this experience in a training capacity. His past work experiences include machine shop, assembly, and paint line experience in small implements, plastic injection molding technician, Quality Specialist and Metalurgical Technician in heavy manufacturing and Research and Development Manager in the architectural aluminum window and curtainwall industry.
Dave has successfully developed and delivered customized training to a wide variety of organizations including manufacturing, finance, healthcare, education, construction, and social services primarily in the areas of organizational effectiveness, continuous improvement, problem solving, facilitation skills, and leadership. He also provides technical assistance and facilitation to organizations in the areas of strategic planning, organizational assessments, meeting facilitation and project planning.
Dave has a Bachelor’s Degree in Math and Physics and a Master’s Degree in Physics. As a life-long learner he has pursued several professional development opportunities to enhance his facilitation skills including the ten-day State of Wisconsin Facilitator Training
Dave's professional activities include membership in the American Society for Quality, serving as an Examiner for the Wisconsin Forward Award (2001), and as Curriculum Writer for the Wisconsin Technical College System statewide quality course “Foundations of Quality”
Dan Burns
Dan is originally from Eau Claire and has spent most of his career working with businesses and industries in the Chippewa Valley.
Prior to joining CVTC in January 2008, for over 20 years Dan served in various leadership and management roles with industry-leading companies such as 3M, Cray Research, and IDEXX Laboratories. Dan has also had the privilege of working as a public servant with the Eau Claire County Department of Human Services.
Dan’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Dan’s career and academic experience allows him to readily gain insight into many of the challenges and opportunities that leaders and managers face in today’s fast-paced world of work. Dan leverages his experience and insight to tailor his consulting and training to best meet the needs of the organizations he is privileged to partner with.
