Grades

You can access your grades by clicking the Tools button and My Grades. The list below describes the symbols and their meaning.

• Dash - the assignment/test has not yet completed.
• Red exclamation point - the assignment/test is completed, but the instructor has not graded it yet.  An exception to this is a graded Discussion Board Forum, as it will never show a red exclamation point, even when completed.
• Question mark - there is a problem with the grade, and you should contact your instructor.
• Lock - the assignment/test has been saved, but not yet submitted. The instructor cannot see or grade it until you submit it. If you are locked out of a test, make sure to contact your instructor to reset it.

Instructors have the ability to display graded assignments/tests in a variety of ways - see the list below.

• Green check mark - this indicates that the assignment is complete.
• Score - gives the number of points you earned.
• Percentage - gives the percentage you earned.
• Letter - gives the letter grade you earned.
• Text - instructor types a word or two to you (rarely used).

Some graded items contain comments from instructors.  If an item is underlined in My Grades, you should click on it to check for comments. You can also view test results from My Grades – click the underlined grade, and then click the underlined score under Calculated Grade.
