Electronic Document Storage

S: Drive.
This is a location on a network server where documents can be stored and shared between individuals, departments, and College-wide. If you wish to set up a folder on the S: drive for sharing purposes, contact the Help Desk.

N: Drive.
The N: drive is a designated area on a network server for each employee. We encourage you to use the N: drive for saving your documents as all data on this drive is backed up daily.

C: Drive.
While employees have the ability to save to the local drive on their work computer it is strongly recommended that a network drive such as the S: or N: is used as they are regularly backed up.

Be Secure

It’s more important now than ever to secure your computer. Once you’ve logged on, anyone can access your files, personal information, grades, tests, etc. Here are just a few ways to keep your work station safe from intrusion:

  • Do not share your user name and password with other staff or students.
  • If you absolutely must write down your user name and password, keep the two items separate and hidden.
  • Use an obscure password and change it frequently.
  • Lock your computer when you leave it (simultaneously hit <control> <alt> <delete> and then click on <Lock Workstation>).
  • When using a computer other than your office PC, log off before letting someone else use it or shut down the computer.
  • Don’t log on to a computer with the intent of giving someone else (such as a work study) access to it!
  • Always logout of VISTA when finished working in the system.
