CVTC Foundation Scholarship Application

CVTC has streamlined the process of applying for scholarships with STARS (Scholarship Tracking And Review System).  STARS enables students to apply for several scholarships online in a matter of minutes.  This helps students increase their funding options and get through the scholarship application process faster and easier.

STARS will be available January 2010 for students in MyCVTC under the Student Life channel/ Applications section:

MyCVTC -> Student Life -> Applications -> STARS   

Scholarship Application Information and Instructions: (Please read carefully)

1. Review scholarship descriptions and criteria to determine eligibility for scholarships.
   
   • CVTC Foundation Scholarships
2. Youth Option and Certificate students are not eligible.
3. The following Scholarships are not available in STARS:
   

   ACCREDITATION IN ACCOUNTANCY SCHOLARSHIP	Contact Program Instructor
   BASIC SKILLS EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP	Contact BSE/ESL/Study Skills Instructor
   CHIPPEWA VALLEY TECHNICAL COLLEGE PEER TUTOR RECOGNITION SCHOLARSHIP - HELEN BARNES/SANDY MARTIN MEMORIAL	Contact Supervisor of Peer Tutors, Study Skills Center, Room M120
   CHIPPEWA VALLEY TECHNICAL COLLEGE TEACHERS' UNION SCHOLARSHIP	Contact Jim Binder at jbinder@cvtc.edu
   VICTOR FINSTAD MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP	Contact the Apprenticeship Office, Chippewa Falls Campus

4. All other CVTC Foundation Scholarships will be available in STARS.
5. For STARS, students should know the following information before registering:
   • Student Identification Number
     • Find your Student Identification Number
   • Cumulative GPA at CVTC 
     • Find your Cumulative GPA at CVTC by going to SIS, Select Student & Financial Aid, Student Record, Academic Transcript 
6. Two Instructor Recommendations are required for each student using STARS. A student can apply for CVTC Foundation Scholarships in STARS but will not be considered unless the recommendations are returned to the Information Desk of the Clairemont Campus by the February deadline.
   
   • Print the CVTC Foundation Scholarship Instructor Recommendations.
   • Complete and sign the "Completed by Student" section.
   • Request two (2) of your instructors to complete, date, sign, and return the Recommendations to you before the February 13 deadline.
   • Turn in the two (2) completed recommendations to the Information Desk of the Clairemont Campus by the February 2010 deadline.
7. Applications for all scholarships in STARS will be closed after the February 2010 deadline.
