CVTC District Board Applications Due March 8, 2010

The CVTC district board makes decisions on important issues affecting the college. The district board has the power to levy property taxes for facilities and equipment, to develop annual budgets, and to hire personnel. 

 

CVTC has an appointed board composed of nine members who serve three year staggered terms. Each year three members are appointed to serve three-year terms beginning July 1.

 

The CVTC district board is composed of two employers, two employees, three additional members, one school district administrator, and one elected official who holds a state or local office.

 

The following vacancies will occur on the Chippewa Valley Technical College District Board on July 1, 2010:

 

            Employer Member:                          3-year term, expiring June 30, 2013

            Employee Member:                         3-year term, expiring June 30, 2013

            Additional Member:                         3-year term, expiring June 30, 2013

 

The definitions for the board member categories listed above are found in the application/affidavit instructions.

 

 

Generally, the duties of district board members are to provide governance for the college, attend monthly board and committee meetings, and attend other state and/or national meetings as necessary.

 

1.    Be a resident of the Chippewa Valley Technical College District.
2.    Submit a properly completed and notarized application/affidavit by 4:00 p.m., Monday, March 8, 2010, to the following
       address:

3.    Attend a district board appointment committee public hearing in person and be interviewed on Monday, March 29, 2010,
       1 p.m., at the Chippewa Valley Technical College Business Education Center, 620 West Clairemont Avenue,  
       Room 100A.
4.    Submit at least two letters of recommendation supporting your candidacy.
5.    Complete and submit the “Questionnaire.”
