Welcome

Behavioral Science and Civic Effectiveness is a General Education academic department at the Chippewa Valley Technical College, a post-secondary education institution offering more than 50 programs leading to an associate degree or technical diploma.

Courses are offered in traditional classroom options in several locations in west central Wisconsin. In addition, several courses are offered in off campus distance learning formats. Contact us for more information.

Our Mission: The CVTC Center for Behavioral Science and Civic Effectiveness delivers superior, progressive general education courses designed (1) to improve the lives of CVTC students through the development of useful personal behavioral skills and (2) to strengthen society at all levels by empowering CVTC students to become effective participants in social, political, and economic systems. By offering discipline-specific and cross-discipline courses in the areas of Economics, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology, the CVTC Center for Behavioral Science and Civic Effectiveness prepares students to develop self-awareness, to think critically, to behave ethically, to develop global and cultural awareness, and to engage in effective social interaction. As such, CVTC students are prepared to become productive members of the work force, civic-minded citizens of their communities, and life-long learners ready to grow within their personal lives and their chosen professions.
