Automotive Maintenance Technician Program

Vehicle Repair Guidelines

Please read the following before submitting your request:

  • Vehicles will only be accepted for repair that are 15 model years old or newer.  For the 2007-2008 school year, the vehicle has to be 1992 or newer.

  • We reserve the right to refuse work on any vehicle.

  • When work is requested, it must fit the instructional intent of the courses being taught at that time.  Once you click "accept" below, find your repair type to contact the correct instructor.  Once you have submitted the form, you will be put on a wait list and contacted when it is time to schedule your appointment.  Requests are honored on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • Requests for work will not be accepted or honored without the completion of the vehicle repair request form.

  • It is ideal that you be able to leave your vehicle with us until repairs are completed.  Students work on the vehicles 2 to 4 hours per day.  Expect your repair to take 3 to 4 times longer than a repair shop.

  • We will accept work on student and staff vehicles, as well as the general public.

  • Customers are charged only for parts & materials used to complete the repair, plus a service charge equal to 10% of parts sales ($20.00 max).  There is no charge for labor.  Donations to the CVTC Auto Club are accepted.

  • All parts that are installed on vehicles must be purchased through the CVTC auto parts store.  You may not bring in your own parts.

  • We will not install your stereo, remote starter, security system, or keyless entry.  We will not install performance equipment.  We only work on original equipment that is factory-installed.

  • A signed repair order is required before any work will be done.

  • There is NO warranty; expressed or implied on repairs or parts.

  • Vehicles to be repaired MUST be parked in the auto repair parking area.  There is a map below for your convenience.  Your keys need to be dropped in the parts room, ECB172,  BEFORE classes start, but no earlier than 7:30am.   Morning classes start at 8 am and afternoon classes start at 1 pm.  Instructors will not collect your keys before 7:30 am.  The parts room closes at 4:30 pm.
