The Critical Care Transport 3-credit certificate is designed to prepare licensed healthcare professionals to function as critical care transport team members. Critically ill or injured patients requiring transport between facilities need a different level of care from hospital or emergency field patients. This certificate provides students with knowledge of the special assessment techniques and needs of the critical care patient, the ability to operate and troubleshoot critical care transport equipment, and develops the skills necessary to maintain the stability of the critical care patient during transport.
