Apply for Financial Aid
Many of our students receive financial aid (for eligible programs) assistance. There are several different types of aid, and you can learn more about each one below. For more details on the financial aid process, view our Financial Aid Checklist.
Complete Entrance Requirements
Most of our programs have open access (meaning no entrance exams or scores are required to enter the program). There are other programs which have an academic range which applicants must meet. Please review your program admission requirements to determine if you meet the academic requirements for admission to the program.
Before enrolling at CVTC, we recommend every student take the Inventory for Student Success (ISS). The ISS is a free, web-based questionnaire that gauges your confidence and attitude regarding your ability to do well at CVTC. Your answers help us better support you and your success at CVTC. Answers or results from the ISS will not affect your admission to CVTC.
CVTC offers a wide variety of certificates and you can apply anytime throughout the year. There is no admission fee or entrance exam requirement to apply for a certificate. While our certificates are not eligible for financial aid, you may find other payment options by checking out our grants, scholarships, Veterans benefits, and payment plan.
Apprenticeships give you access to careers that are typically unavailable to those without experience, and build skills that are transferable from one employer to another and from one area of the country to another. They combine structured on-the-job training with related classroom instruction. CVTC offers five apprenticeships:
The Records & Registration office maintains official student records and coordinates the registration process, monitors satisfactory academic progress, provides official transcripts, and verifies degree completion.

Credit for Prior Learning grants college credit toward an associate degree or technical diploma for knowledge or skills you have gained that directly relate to your program. Previous knowledge and skills may be the result of work or volunteer experiences, certifications, apprenticeships, military training, extensive self-instruction, or professional development. Credit for Prior Learning affords you the opportunity to accelerate the completion of your educational goals.
Learn More About Credit for Prior Learning
Transferring in credits from other learning environments is common at CVTC. You can transfer in credits from courses taken in high school, by taking an exam, or through apprenticeship training or work experience. Your credits can come from a variety of places, but at least 25% of them must be earned through graded coursework at CVTC.
Transfer in Credits
The Youth Options program allows public high school juniors and seniors who meet certain requirements to take courses at CVTC. Approved courses count toward high school graduation and college credit. The school board must pay for any course (including tuition, books, and fees) that is taken for high school credit and that is not comparable to a course offered in the school district.

Your students are eligible if you are a public high school, and the student has completed 10th grade with good academic standing, met any course prerequisites, has written approval from a parent or guardian, and has no history of disciplinary problems.
