The Right Choice
CVTC and local high schools have partnered to offer students who are at least 16 years old and interested in pursuing a career in healthcare an opportunity to earn high school and college credit. Dual credit academies give high school students a chance to navigate their interests and career options to develop the most successful individualized career path. Credits earned through this academy may be applied to CVTC programs and transfer to other colleges. Students who successfully complete EMT1/EMR will have the opportunity to complete their Emergency Medical Responder Certification.

Online | 16 hours face to face that students will schedule with their instructor
Academy Location: Locations vary. Required 16 hours face to face that students will schedule with their instructor. The remainder of class will be taught Real Time Synchronous/Online.
*Students must earn a grade of 80% or higher in EMT1/EMR to be eligible to enroll in EMT2
531-312 Emergency Medical Technician 1
Provides the foundational knowledge for future Emergency Medical Technicians and Emergency Medical Responders. Topics include: basic human anatomy, performing a patient assessment, traumatic injury management, airway management, and Basic Life Support cardiac resuscitation. Upon successful completion, candidates will be eligible to participate in the National Registry of EMTs Emergency Medical Responder exams for Wisconsin EMR certification.
