Dual Credit High School Academy

CVTC and local high schools have partnered to offer incoming sophomores, juniors, seniors who are interested in the educational field, an opportunity to earn college credit. Dual credit academies give high school students a chance to navigate their interests and career options to develop the most successful and individualized career path. Credits earned through this academy can be applied to CVTC's Foundations of Teacher Education Associate Degree. 

Education is a dynamic and ever-changing career field. Learn about the historical, philosophical, and social foundations of education. Explore issues and trends in elementary, middle and secondary institutions including WI and national regulations, fundamentals of teaching methodologies, learning styles, and basic assessment techniques. Students will also gain experience in creating and using web tools and online classroom techniques. 

A personal device-laptop or iPad and access to CVTC google account is required to complete the academy.

Provides an overview of physical, motor, perceptual, cognitive, social/emotional and growth and development birth through adolescence. Analyzes social, parental, cultural, brain, and economic influences on development.
