Intro to Library Services Career Pathway

Dual Credit High School Academy

CVTC and local high schools have partnered to offer high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in libraries, museums, or information agencies an opportunity to earn college credit. High school academies give high school students a chance to navigate their interests and career options to develop the most successful individualized career path. Credits earned through this academy can be applied to CVTC's Library & Information Sciences program.

Library employees today have more opportunities than ever before in a variety of different library settings. They are often one of the first place people go for technology help, career exploration, and trusted information. If you have strong organization and customer service skills, enjoy working with people and technology, then explore CVTC's Library & Information Services program. Courses will  help you gain the skills needed for a career at a public library, non-profit, school, or government organization.
