Chippewa Valley Tech, Herzing University Provide Online RN to BSN Path
DEGREE UP partnership offers students more affordable ways to earn credits
Students with an associate degree from Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) will have a more affordable and flexible option to earn a bachelor’s of science in nursing (BSN) degree, thanks to a partnership announced with Herzing University.
Herzing University is an accredited private nonprofit institution with 11 campuses in eight states, and an acclaimed online division. Following completion of an associate degree and application to Herzing’s DEGREE UP program, students can pursue credit from both CVTC and Herzing University simultaneously. The partnership will allow students to take advantage of CVTC’s tuition rates for many required bachelor’s-level courses, making the next stage in their education more affordable.
“CVTC is committed to providing students with opportunities that help them achieve their academic and professional goals,” said Bruce Barker, president of CVTC. “We’re proud to offer an accessible pathway to a BSN degree that students can obtain locally. We anticipate that many CVTC graduates will obtain employment with their associate degree in nursing from CVTC, and begin work on their BSN through Herzing University, opening more opportunities in their careers.”
DEGREE UP students will take their courses from Herzing University Online. The end result is both an associate degree from CVTC and a BSN degree from Herzing University. Herzing offers classes in spring, summer and fall semesters, allowing students to earn the degree in as little as 12 months.
Herzing RN to BSN students may also elect to take up to four graduate courses that will satisfy RN to BSN program requirements. These courses also count toward a Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree program with Herzing.
“Nursing remains a very in-demand career field, and we want to help nurses advance their careers,” said Herzing University Madison Campus President Bill Vinson. “RN to BSN provides students an efficient pathway to earning their degree. With the DEGREE UP partnership, they don’t have to worry about complicated transfer requirements.”
