Admission Requirements
Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Advanced Placement
Associate Degree | 10-526-2
www.cvtc.edu | 1-800-547-2882
To get started, applicants must first complete the College Admission Requirements. Once completed, applicants are officially accepted to CVTC and placed on the program waiting list, if applicable. An applicant’s program eligibility date is the date their completed application is received. If necessary, the application time will also be used to determine placement priority.
Before beginning core program classes, all Academic Preparedness Requirements must also be completed as outlined below. Applicants still working on Academic Preparedness Requirements may be accepted as Pre-Core. Pre-Core status allows applicants to take general education courses and continue working on necessary Academic Preparedness Requirements while maintaining their place in line for the program.
When all Academic Preparedness Requirements are met and space is available in the core program, applicants are eligible to register for core Diagnostic Medical Sonography Advanced Placement (526-level) courses.
Eligibility for advanced placement requires a person to be a graduate of a two-year ARRT-accredited Radiography program; however, applicants currently enrolled in a two-year ARRT-accredited Radiography program may apply after completing their first full year of the program. An official transcript showing completion of the first year is required. Graduates of a Nursing-Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree program may be considered on a case-by-case basis for acceptance. Students must be Nursing Board eligible. Before applying, contact an academic advisor at (715) 833-6346.
